About 60 children have witnessed a silver disc-shaped craft landing or hovering over the bushland behind Ariel primary school during the mid-morning break. Some of them reported seeing two "beings" outside the object and that there were other smaller crafts too.
The children were interviewed immediately after the event by reporter Tim Leach (BBC) and Cynthia Hind (UFO AFRINEWS) and recorded for BBC television. Then also other media agencies followed up the story.
Pulitzer Prize-winning Harvard psychiatrist Dr. John Mack later interviewed the children in depth and concluded that the children were not making up the story.
During that time period there were multiple sightings of unusual aerial phenomena reported in Zimbabwe.
