A Chilean Navy helicopter, equipped with a FLIR camera, was filming a strange looking object for about nine minutes while flying north along the coast, west of Santiago de Chile.
The two men onboard saw the object with the naked eye but the object could not be detected by nearby radar stations nor the camera's radar. No air traffic had been reported to the area and the object did not respond to communication attempts.
The video shows at two instances that the object discharged some type of gas or liquid with a high thermal track.
In January 2017, the CEFAA, a Chilean government agency which investigates UFOs, has released the video to the public after Chilean authorities have studied it for two years.
