Harvard professor Avi Loeb speculates that ʻOumuamua could be alien technology
On October 19, 2017 a telescope at Haleakalā Observatory, Hawaii detected the first known interstellar object that was passing through the Solar System, named 1I/ʻOumuamua.
Professor Avi Loeb, a theoretical physicist who works on astrophysics and cosmology at Harvard University has written the book "Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth" that is scheduled for release on January 26, 2021.
In several interviews prior to the book's release Loeb speculates that ʻOumuamua might be alien technology that acts as a solar sail of some sort, possibly originating from another star system.
